What is the Margarett Rose Abri Project? December 11, 2009

The Margarett Rose Abri is a Social Enterprise Project that gives employment opportunities, advice and support to people who are genuinely trying to put their lives back on track after a period of disruption or disadvantage. The Project offers various health and dental care services to the community as well as an ironing service and the profits are ploughed back into the business.

The Project has a café where regular events give local musicians, actors, poets, stand up comedians and scriptwriters a chance to hone and showcase their talents. The Café aims to be a place where everyone can relax, meet others and where ideas are exchanged and people can feel engaged in their community – In short, it is a place where minds can meet!

• We are a few minutes walk from the No. 2 – 12 – 31 – 50 bus stops on Bradford St and Birchall St.
• There is on-street parking (more so for weekend and evening events)
• With many events being free – and very reasonable café prices – great live music, theatre and social events are still affordable…even during a recession!

You can support The Margarett Rose Abri by coming to our events and by using the café and other services and by spreading the word.
